Lewis still waiting on visits

Robert Lewis still has not set any official visits as he waits for Ole Miss and a few other schools to figure out when he can get to campus but that hasn't stopped the South Gate (Calif.) South East recruit from starting his senior season off well.
This past weekend in a 38-0 victory over Gardena, Calif., Lewis rushed for 70 yards on eight carries, had an 80-yard interception return and a 79-yard kickoff return with two touchdowns.

The pesky 5-foot-9, 155-pound prospect also played well in South East's senior opener against Los Angeles Eagle Rock two weeks ago.
Committed to SMU since late February, Lewis has made it no secret that he plans to take other official visits with two probably coming during the season. Ole Miss could be one of those and the three-star prospect is also trying to get to Oregon at some point.
A trip to Utah is being worked on for January.
South East assistant coach Juan Carrera said that Lewis' top five are SMU, Ole Miss, Colorado, Oregon and Utah and that he's planning to take official visits but only a couple during the season so it doesn't interfere with his schedule.
Getting to Ole Miss is crucial for Lewis, who would be excited to play in the SEC because of the competitiveness in that league. Others are also being strongly considered but nothing has been finalized yet.
"He's only going to take two visits during the season and wait for others until after the season so he can focus," Carrera said.
Rivals.com rates Lewis as the No. 10 all-purpose back in the 2012 class and No. 52 in the California state rankings.
