Lewis says Gators will make the cut

New Jersey linebacker Kaiwan Lewis has to be extremely pleased with the position he finds himself in today as far as recruiting is concerned.
The 6-foot-2, 227-pound linebacker from Hammonton (N.J.) St. Joseph has well over a dozen offers.

Lewis hasn't set out about the hard work of narrowing things down but that's something he knows he will want to start to do soon.
"I'm trying to," Lewis admitted. "I'll be done trimming it right after May is over."
Once the summer begins Lewis may be able to visit some of the schools on his trimmed down list. The only recent trip he took was to Virginia.
Lewis said he has been in recent contact with the coaches from Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia, Stanford and Cal. Those are the schools that have been recruiting him the hardest.
While he doesn't have a favorite Lewis does know of just one school that he's sure will make his first cut.
"Florida for sure," Lewis responded. "They're just recruiting me the hardest and I feel comfortable with their staff."
Lewis has never visited Gainesville but said he will do that as soon as he gets the chance. He claimed an offer from the Gators in mid-May and their interest has continued since then.
He went on to say he hopes he can narrow his list to five schools, but will settle for narrowing it to seven or eight if he finds the process difficult.
