Lewis picks up BCS offer

Roger Lewis has known for a while now that he'll be playing football in the FBS ranks.
He was ecstatic to learn on Wednesday that he had received his first offer from a school in a BCS conference. It was even sweeter because the offer came from a school he's very familiar with and isn't far from home.

Cincinnati became the first BCS school to offer Lewis, a 6-foot-1, 195-pound wide receiver from Pickerington (Ohio) Central on Wednesday. That was after a strong camp performance that showed the coaches all they needed to see.
"I found out about it yesterday," Lewis explained. "I'm excited, especially considering my sister played basketball there. I'm pretty familiar with them.
"I talked to the coach who recruits my area. They had been talking about offering for a while. I just went down to the camp and had a phenomenal day."
Lewis was at a combine in Michigan on Thursday and said he performed well there, too.
Now he has offers from just about all of the schools in the Mid-American Conference plus Cincinnati. While he's thrilled with the position he currently finds himself in he isn't ready for things to start winding down quite yet.
"I don't have any favorites," he said. "I'm just waiting for everything to blow up and then I'll go from there.
"I'll be visiting Michigan State next weekend."
