Lewis picks Kansas State

Tyrone Lewis almost committed to Utah before his senior year, but he held off, took visits, and he now knows where he belongs.

The defensive back out of Louisiana has committed to Kansas State over Iowa State and Utah.

He has taken his official visit to Manhattan and he plans to go back once more before Signing Day.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

"I committed to Kansas State and I made my decision January 12," said Lewis. "I let coach Klieman, coach Braet and coach Blake know about my decision — they were excited as hell.

"I chose Kansas State because of the new head coach, the defensive back coaches and the opportunity to play early. Coach Blake been recruiting me since my sophomore year.

"I took my official visit in December and I will be back January 25. It’s a college town and it’s the people that made it easy to make my decision.

"I am done with recruiting."

RIVALS REACTION

Lewis is a versatile defensive back that could line up anywhere in the secondary for the Wildcats. He is a true competitor. He is a defensive back that loves contact. He plays with an edge. He is someone that can play the run, then his ball skills are a plus as well. Lewis has good instincts and solid size. This is a very good pick-up for the new staff at Kansas State. Lewis is always looking to compete and go hard. He will take an attitude to the Wildcat secondary.
