Lewis nabs two BCS offers

Miramar (Fla.) wideout Kahlil Lewis is coming off a solid junior season after racking up 20 receptions for 372 yards and four touchdowns. The Patriot program has been a pipeline school for West Virginia over the years, so it's no surprise the Mountaineers extended a verbal offer.
The talented junior is happy to be on the board with his first offer. He was at a loss for words when head coach Damon Cogdell told the offer.

"When he told me I was speechless," remarked Lewis. "He (Cogdell) was like you aren't going to say anything? I was like I don't know to say. I was happy. I told all my friends."
On Friday night, Lewis hauled in a 65-yard touchdown reception to giver Miramar's its first touchdown of the game. Lewis has big play ability and can stretch the field.
According to Lewis Nebraska offered recently and Washington State has shown interest.
Assistant coach JaJuan Seider is talking to Lewis for the Mountaineers.
"Coach Seider talks to me all the time just to say how are you doing," noted Lewis. "He said he is coming down next week for our game. I'm planning to get there this summer along with some other places."
Lewis said his recruitment is starting to take off after missing time with a groin injury.
The Huskers continue to recruit South Florida and Miramar has been a perennial program that produces BCS athletes.
"Assistant coach Ron Brown came by the school," recalled Lewis. "He liked my film. I haven't done my research on them, but I know it's a great school."
The 'Canes have also checked in on him. Lewis said Miami has reached out to his coach to gauge his interest in the hometown school.
Growing up he said he watched Miami, but he calls UCLA and USC dream offers.
Teammate Andre Godfrey has the Bruins in his top five. Lewis candidly said, "If Dre goes there and I get an offer I'm likely going there too. It's 50-50 on him and if I get the offer."
Lewis tries to pattern his game after former Patriot standout Stedman Bailey and Philadelphia Eagles receiver DeSean Jackson.
