The senior season of Muskegon (Mich.) running back Juwan Lewis is complete and film is being put together to send out to college coaches. The 5-11, 208-pound back holds five offers, and continues to receive interest from schools across the country.
"Everybody that has followed me since day one and thinking highly of me, like Big Ten, Big East and ACC schools, have still been in contact and constantly been checking on grades and updates," Lewis said. "A lot of Big Ten schools have been requesting transcripts. Syracuse has called a couple times and Army has even come and talked to me.
"Everybody has still been all hands in and right now I am waiting patiently for things to follow through and then I'll make the decision."
Lewis received offers from MAC programs Buffalo Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan before the season, and added two more MAC offers during the season. He is looking closely at each of those programs and considering official visits with those schools.
"During the season I got offered by Miami (Ohio) and also from Toledo," Lewis said. "The ones that have offered have been giving me that one phone call a week. I've been requested to come on a visit the weekend of Dec. 10 to Buffalo. We'll see how that works out."
Unofficial game day visits have already been taken this fall to Michigan, Michigan State and Western Michigan.
"When I went to see Western Michigan play Central, I really liked Western Michigan's atmosphere," Lewis said. "It really seems like they have some very good tradition."
Lewis camped at Michigan over the summer, and received strong feedback then on his performance from running backs coach Fred Jackson.
"The last game I went to, they requested more film so my coach got out to Coach Jackson and gave him more film," Lewis said. "I haven't heard anything from him since then, so we'll see how everything plays out."
Lewis had another successful season, finishing with 20 touchdowns for an 8-3 Big Reds squad, but they dropped their first round playoff game and Lewis has fully transitioned into figuring out where he will continue his football career.
"I'm just going to get film out, let people see what they see and if I don't get anymore offers I'll just choose from the ones that I have," he said.
