Leniu talks two upcoming visits

Chandler Leniu has backed off his Washington State pledge and the four-star linebacker has two official visits set up for later this month.
The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco standout who looked good in the Semper-Fi All-American Game had been committed to the Cougars for a long time but said being closer to home has become a bigger consideration in recent weeks.

"I kind of am leaning toward staying closer to home right now," Leniu said.
The four-star linebacker will visit Cal the weekend of Jan. 24 and then Fresno State the following week as signing day gets closer.
Because of his desire to stay closer to home, the Golden Bears could be in very good shape. There is a possibility Leniu could take a trip this weekend but the four-star said he hasn't heard from any new schools after his Semper Fi performance.
That means it's probably two trips and then Leniu will be ready to make his final choice.
"I'm kind of set with my trips right now," Leniu said.
"It's looking good right now. I'm heading to Cal on the 24th and I'm headed to Fresno State on the 31st. The 17th is still open for me and I'm hopefully going to take a visit. I'm still open and I'm hoping others get involved but who knows.
"(Cal) means a lot especially since it's close to home. I'm looking for the right fit for me, if I could see myself there for four years. I'm looking at the little things, too, so I'm not sure if that's the place for me yet."
