Leniu names clear frontrunner

Chandler Leniu took his first official visit this past weekend and could have his decision made up.
The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco three-star linebacker took a trip to Washington State this past weekend and he said the Cougars are definitely the favorite in his recruitment.

Leniu, who shined at the RCS Los Angeles in the spring, is not ready yet to make his choice but Washington State could definitely be tough to beat moving forward.
"I thought it was pretty good," Leniu said. "When I first got there they welcomed me with open arms and everything was just great. We went sightseeing and they took me around the whole campus and they showed me everything. It's a great little college town.
"They really want me to commit right away and they really want me to come play for them. They feel it's a great fit for me and want me to come in there and do what I do best over there.
"Before I went on that trip, Washington State was my first choice and it just boosted me up a lot after the trip and made me want to commit right after. It was just great. Everything is great over there."
Washington State is the leader for Leniu, rated as the No. 18 inside linebacker in the 2014 class by Rivals.com, but he wants to take other trips before committing somewhere.
The St. John Bosco standout will visit Iowa State next month and he plans to take the other three as well. Fresno State, Kansas, Nevada, San Jose State and TCU have also offered.
"I'm going to hold off," Leniu said. "I think it's a little too early to tell right now but Washington State will always be my first choice."
