Leniu makes decision after visit

Chandler Leniu visited Washington State last weekend.
He loved the trip but wanted to hold off for a little while before making his decision. That lasted until Thursday when he figured it was best to commit since the Cougars had been his favorite for a long time and his trip blew him away.

"That visit helped me a lot to make my decision," Leniu said. "I was really going to commit there before I went but it helped me boost that decision to commit there right away after my visit.
"I just felt the atmosphere and the connection between the coaches and me."
The three-star linebacker from Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco had other offers from Fresno State, Iowa State, Kansas, Nevada, San Jose State and TCU but Washington State had emerged as the frontrunner and after his trip all the questions were answered.
No matter if Leniu takes some other visits, the St. John Bosco standout said it's highly unlikely that his decision will change.
"I liked the school," Leniu said of Washington State. "I liked the campus and the team and the coaches. Those are the main things that I really liked about it.
"I might take some other trips somewhere else but I don't think that's going to change my mind. We'll see if I take other trips but I'm really firm with my decision."
Rivals.com rates Leniu as the No. 18 inside linebacker and the No. 33 prospect in the California state rankings.
