Leniu focused on camps

Chandler Leniu has a good thing going on.
The Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco linebacker plays for arguably the top team in the state heading into next season and he had an outstanding performance at the Rivals Camp in Los Angeles so he's seen his recruitment pick up.

The 6-foot, 225-pound inside linebacker already had offers from Fresno State and Iowa State and most recently landed Kansas.
It came as a surprise but Leniu is definitely excited about the Big 12 offer and it's something he will seriously consider moving forward.
"I had been talking to them for two weeks and they just decided to offer me," Leniu said.
"I just kept in touch with them. They're going to come out on April 30 to our school and see how I look. It was shocking that they offered and it's another blessing for me."
Cal, BYU, San Diego State and San Jose State continue to show the most interest in Leniu, who said it's been busy at St. John Bosco during the spring evaluation period and it should continue that way in the coming weeks.
That is especially exciting to Leniu because once college coaches see him in person it could mean more offers.
"Spring evaluations have been good," Leniu said. "A lot of coaches came down this past week so things are going really good right now."
Two big camps are coming up this summer.
Leniu said he's going to both local Pac-12 schools and he's hopeful his recruitment could take off from there. Since it's still not even the summer, Leniu does not want to name favorites yet.
"I'm going to hit up UCLA and USC camp for sure," Leniu said. "They want me to come out there and perform at their camp.
"I just have to keep showing people what I can do and I have to keep proving other people wrong. I want to keep doing what I do best. It's still too early (for leaders). I'm open to anybody right now."
