Leifheit rolls through Southern Cal

Wilmington (N.C.) Hoggard offensive tackle T.J. Leifheit made a major trip out West. The 6-foot-7, 300-pounder made his way to Southern Cal for four days this past week.
"I went out there last Friday and came back on Tuesday," he said. "I got there Friday night and went to the scrimmage on Saturday and met with all of their coaches.

"I liked the scrimmage a lot. It's real up-tempo and high pace. There are not a lot of breaks between plays."
On Sunday, Leifheit took a break and saw Southern California including Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills and more.
He returned to campus on Monday to take a tour of the school.
"That's when I talked to Coach Carroll and Coach Ruel. It was great. I spent three or four hours with Coach Ruel watching film and talking," he stated. "I liked both of them a lot. Coach Carroll is really energetic.
"He did talk about how he wants me as an offensive tackle. They were telling me how they're going to be graduating five guys after this year and since I'm coming in early because I'm graduating early, I'll have a chance.
"I also met with one of the players, Butch Lewis. I talked to him about the program and how he liked the coaches. I always like talking to the players. He told me how it is and how they coach."
While the visit impressed, Leifheit remains firm that there are no favorites.
"USC is really high up there, I enjoyed the trip a lot meeting with all the coaches and watching practice. I enjoyed talking to the strength and conditioning coach," he said. "I am still open though and don't have any favorites.
"Right now I don't have any other visits planned. I'm just waiting on the May evaluation period to come and for coaches to come in."
