Leggett part of magical playoff run

Navarre (Fla.) wide receiver Bradley Leggett is a junior who is hoping to emerge onto the national recruiting scene. The 2010 season for him has helped his cause, as he has been a major offensive weapon for a Navarre team that has surprised everyone by going 9-1 and advancing to the third round of the state playoffs.
"No one really expected us to do much but early in the spring the coaches told us that they thought we could go far this year," Leggett said. "They just told us we had to buy into this and believe we could do this. Everybody on our team actually believed we could do it."

A major reason why Navarre is in the third round and preparing to face Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln is the strength of the connection between Leggett and his quarterback Colton Kane, who has emerged during his senior season. In their upset of Pensacola (Fla.) Pine Forest last week Kane connected with Leggett for a 30-yard touchdown in the waning moments to put Navarre ahead.
According to Leggett, their ability to make big plays goes back to hard work put in prior to the season.
"First time I met him I introduced myself and told him I was going to be his number one receiver. He kind of looked at me funny," Leggett said. "From there we just worked out together a lot and worked on our timing. We put in a lot of extra effort and built our timing up. It has paid off."
Leggett has been working on perfecting his craft for some time at the wide receiver spot. This past summer, he participated at a camp held at LSU.
"It was my first real camp that I went to, so I was getting after it," Leggett said. "They matched us up with the juniors. It was fun, but I really wanted to go up against the seniors."
In addition to his LSU camp visit, he has also travelled to Troy for a camp.
During the 2010 season, he made his way over to Auburn to check out a game. He saw the Tigers square off against Chattanooga.
"That was amazing," Leggett said. "We left after a game on Friday and rode out there early in the morning. I was just blown away. The atmosphere is crazy. Everybody there knows who everybody is. The fanbase just gives a lot of effort towards the football team. We got a chance to meet some of the players. We were down on the field."
At this point in his recruitment, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound wideout doesn't have any verbal offers but he is getting a good bit of interest from programs around the nation.
"A lot of schools are sending me mail," Leggett said. "UCLA, Penn State, Air Force, Auburn are all in contact, but UCLA is the big one. They have been sending me the most stuff and in contact the most. On my birthday they sent me a cool e-mail. When I talk with them, I just like them the most."
When Navarre's season concludes, Leggett intends to use the summer to travel some and hopefully land a few offers. He knows of one college campus he will definitely be stepping on.
"I plan to get ready for camps and combines after the season," Leggett said. "I know I definitely want to go to UCLA. The schools that are looking at me more, I am going to try to take official visits to them next year."
