Lee to take visits in wake of shakeup

Eric Lee's situation is a familiar one. It's the same one in which his friend and fellow Nebraska commit Avery Anderson currently finds himself.
The Rivals250 defensive back is a Nebraska commit. That hasn't changed. But the recent dismissal of Bo Pelini has given him the itch to look around. Lee isn't much for dabbling in prolonged uncertainty. So while his hear is certainly with Nebraska, the school for which he grew up cheering, he feels it best to form a backup plan or two.

You know, just in case.
"Avery and I are going to stick with Nebraska as of now," lee said. "We made a commitment to them and we're going to uphold that as of now. We just think it's the right thing for our situation to take some visits to see what else is out there."
Lee and Anderson have made their desires to play alongside each other clear. It's part of the reason they both appear on Nebraska's commitment list. Both are on pace to graduate high school a semester early and join a college program in time for spring workouts. Lee, a standout at traditional Colorado-based powerhouse Valor Christian High School, is hoping that program is Nebraska.
Things are just less certain than they once were.
"Avery and I just hope that the situation at Nebraska ends up being good," Lee said. "We hope that a coach ends up getting hired pretty quickly and that we get an opportunity to meet them and get to know them a little better. After that, we'll make a decision."
Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Colorado State, Northwestern have already reached out to Lee to inquire about his services. No visit itinerary has been drafted as of yet, but that will likely come in short order.
"We don't really have a visit list yet," Lee said. "After I talk to some more schools, my family and I will discuss the visits. It's going to be a busy month of December for us. We will take some officials and maybe even some unofficials."
Lee's checklist is similar to Anderson's. Certain things are important to the duo, and a lot of what happens next may rest on the shoulders of the Huskers' athletic department.
In this case, the time of the impending hire could be paramount.
"The big thing for me is being able to play with Avery [Anderson]," Lee said. "With Nebraska, what coach and what defensive coordinator they bring in is big for me. Also, being able to enroll at semester."
As a senior at Valor, Lee recorded 59 tackles including three for a loss. He intercepted five passes and scored eight touchdowns in sporadic offensive reps as a running back and wide receiver. He finished the season with 1,120 all-purpose yards.
