Lee lands surprise Pac-12 offer

Darron Lee has been receiving offers mainly from Midwest and East Coast schools and then seemingly out of nowhere the New Albany, Ohio, athlete landed one from Arizona State in recent days.
"That was a surprise," Lee said.

"I'm guessing they probably talked to my coach before anything. That's all I know because it was (Wednesday) that Arizona State called and said they're interested. The next thing I know I got offered so that's good news."
Lee, a 6-foot-2, 195-pound three-star prospect, could play a variety of positions and wasn't sure which one he was offered for by Arizona State.
The Ohio recruit said he was going to call one of the Sun Devils' assistant coaches to talk more about where they envision him playing.
In total, Lee now has offers from Arizona State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Duke, Illinois, Kent State, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Purdue and Toledo and many others are showing interest.
Since the Arizona State offer caught him really off-guard and he doesn't know too much about the program yet, Lee said he's not sure where he stands with the Sun Devils until he talks more with the coaches and figures out exactly what's going on.
"After people heard about it they said I should go there," Lee said.
"For me, I've never been out that way before so I don't really know how to judge it right now. I don't really know too much about them except from what my friends are telling me that it's a really nice campus."
