Leader Emerges For Four-Star DE

Hampton (Va.) Bethel defensive end Chris Ellis didn't commit to Virginia Tech on his visit last week, but he did say the words Hokie fans wanted to hear.
"It was cool, I had a good time," said the 6-foot-5, 230-pounder regarding his unofficial visit to Tech to help his buddy Jimmy Williams move in. "Anytime you get to visit a school it gets you a better feel for the place and I got to speak to a lot of players and get more comfortable with the coaches."

And then he said it.
"I can picture myself going to Tech and probably will," he said. "I really like it there and I have a bunch of friends there. Jimmy (Williams) has been working me pretty good as well and I think I fit in at Tech better than anywhere else."
So why didn't he commit?
"I still want to take official visits to Virginia, Maryland and VTech and see what things are like on a game weekend," he said. "I have the offers so I don't want to rush."
And will UVA get an unofficial soon as well?
"Practice starts this week so I don't think I'll have the time to get there," he said. "We have a lot of work to do as a team."
