LB Williams makes his choice

Pennsylvania linebacker Armstead Williams has taken three official visits and has entertained interest from countless schools over the course of the recruiting process.
After taking some time to think things over, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound outside linebacker from Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway has made his college decision.

"I'm committed to Purdue," Williams said. "It happened about two days ago. I met with the head coach when he came to visit me.
"That was the first school I visited. I think I can go there and get good playing time if I work hard. It's not any one thing that sticks out to me. I just love the opportunity. They're rebuilding and I think they're going to be a lot better."
Williams had also taken official visits to Illinois and Iowa. He said he had basically narrowed things down to those three schools.
He does not plan on taking any other visits between now and Signing Day and said he is solidly committed to the Boilermakers.
Purdue is bringing Williams in as an outside linebacker. This fall he registered 70 tackles and two sacks.
Williams is ranked the No. 31 prospect in Pennsylvania for the Class of 2011.
