LB Stays Close

Thiels (N.Y.) North Rockland linebacker Kelvin Smith decided that staying close to home was the best idea.
"I decided on Syracuse for a few reasons," said the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder who chose the Orangemen over Maryland. "Syracuse has a better record of putting linebackers and defensive players in the pros and they're close to home. They also have great support from their fans."
Smith visited the Orangemen and Maryland and narrowed his decision down to the two schools. He also had an offer from Rutgers.
