LB Smith prepared for busy weekend

Highland Park, Ill. three star ranked inside linebacker prospect Scott Smith (6-foot-2, 225 pounds) is always on the move. Smith will take an unofficial visit to the University of Notre Dame on Friday night, yet Smith will also be back on the road come Saturday afternoon.

"Originally I had hoped to make my official visit to Notre Dame this weekend," Smith said. "I have my own basketball games on Friday and Saturday night, so I'm just making an unofficial visit instead."

Smith explains his weekend journey.

"I'm playing in my high school basketball game on Friday night, then my Dad and I are heading to South Bend right after the game is over with. We'll get into South Bend around 1AM, so we'll stay overnight then have breakfast with the coaches at Notre Dame. I'm going to go to the basketball game at noon on Saturday and I'll watch maybe a half, then I'll need to leave. My team has a game in Milwaukee on Saturday night, and I need to be there."

Smith is hoping to fit in an official visit sometime in January, but also knows that his schedule will make this hard to accomplish.

"I really wanted to meet the coaches and the players at Notre Dame, especially since this is a big recruiting weekend for the team. I'm going to make this unofficial visit and I'm excited to finally meet the coaches and the players and recruits in person. I've also been calling a few guys who are interested in Notre Dame and I'm trying to help out Notre Dame in anyway that I can. I'm hoping to get an official visit in sometime in January."
