LB Roberts picks up first BCS offer

Lancaster, Ohio linebacker Luke Roberts has had scholarship offers from a few MAC schools for a while now.
While Roberts was thrilled with those opportunities that had already presented himself, he was ecstatic to hear of his most recent offer just a few days ago.

"Indiana just offered on Friday so I'm going up there sometime," Roberts said. "Obviously it's big. It's a Big Ten offer and being from the Midwest that's pretty cool. I had talked to their coach before and I knew they were interested. I didn't think they would offer this early. I thought it would be around the time of camp. It's still kind of early.
"I know they have a new staff coming in this year and I think they're on the right track."
Roberts has already visited Bowling Green but he hasn't visited Buffalo, Indiana or Kent State, the other three schools that have offered.
In addition to those schools, Louisville, Cincinnati, Michigan State and Purdue are recruiting the 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker.
"A couple of the schools seem like they're considering giving me an offer over the next few weeks. I hope it happens. They've all invited me to go to their camps. I'll be camping at Michigan State, Purdue and Cincinnati. I'm actually heading east to Harvard and Brown as well, and possibly a few others," he explained.
As for favorites?
"I kind of have everyone on an even playing field," he said. "Over the summer if I feel strongly about a school I might (decide) before the season. If not then I won't."
