LB Nicholson ready for decision

Winston Salem (N.C.) Mt. Tabor linebacker Derek Nicholson took an official visit to Florida State this past weekend and is now ready to make his final decision. The nation's No. 2 inside linebacker and No. 30 player overall will announce his decision on ESPNews Monday at around 5:20PM EST from Charlotte, N.C. Does he know where he's going?
"I have a pretty good idea," said the 6-foot-0, 220-pounder. "It's down to Florida State, North Carolina and Texas. I'll announce on Monday."

Nicholson has ties to both FSU and UNC and was blown away by Texas and their facilities. How will he narrow it down?
"Florida State was a good visit, I was hosted by my brother A.J. but it wasn't really anything new," he said. "I met with the coaches and toured the facilities, but I already knew all that stuff and know the team. It was more of a relaxing visit.
"North Carolina is where my dad played so I know that school very well also and had a great visit there too. Texas was kind of a shock to me because the facilities and everything about the place was just big. It was very impressive. I'm just weighing the good stuff about each place and will make my decision based on which is the best fit."
Nicholson also visited Virginia Tech but said the Hokies are no longer in the mix. He's excited to get the process over with.
"To be able to commit on national television is a big deal and an honor," he said. "I'm excited about it and I can't wait to get things over with. It's been a fun process but I'm tired too."
