LB Martin nets first BCS offer

Two-way standout Jimmy Martin has racked up the frequent flyer miles this summer after visiting Indiana, Notre Dame, and Purdue.
Earlier in the spring he took a trip to Michigan as well. All of the previously mentioned schools want him at linebacker despite being a capable next level fullback.

He nabbed his first FBS offer from Florida International and he said it felt good to get the first one out of the way.
Shortly after the Golden Panthers offered he landed his first BCS offer from Cincinnati. That got him fired up even more.
"They offered me when they came to the school," remarked Martin. "Coach [Bill] Gierke talked to them and he told me they offered. They wanted me to come to their camp, but we did the Midwest tour and I didn't make it."
Duke is on the verge of offering according to Martin. He attended their summer camp and impressed linebackers coach Jim Collins.
"After the camp I spoke to the head coach David Cutcliffe and he said I was the best linebacker there. He said that it's a done deal after his vacation they will offer," stated Martin. "Academically it's top eight in the country. You can't get better than that."
Schools like Indiana, N.C. State, and Purdue want to wait until the first couple of games of his junior before offering. He didn't specify a time on his decision.
The productive sophomore racked up 113 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions at his inside linebacker spot while rushing for 604 yards and eight scores on offense.
