Rockhurst linebacker Kevin Kane is starting to attract more attention from colleges. On his list of schools are Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Missouri, Kansas State and Kansas. He has not received an offer yet.
Kane played both linebacker and offensive guard last season. From his linebacker spot he totaled 129 tackles, 3 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery. For his effort he earned first team all-state honors. "Just having a knack for the ball and being around the ball often, is my strength," Kane said.
"Right now I'm pretty wide open," Kane said. "My parents don't mind where I choose to go, but I think my dad would kind of like to see me go to Nebraska. He played for the Huskers back in the mid 70s."
Kane was not able to attend any summer camps, but he did visit the spring games at both Missouri and Nebraska. Give me your dream teams for official visits. "I have 3 right now and they would be Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Missouri," Kane said.
Any tough opponents from last season that you remember? "Yeah, I faced Jared Helming (Springfield standout) who is a very good player," Kane said.
In closing, Kane said, "I like Georgia Tech, Nebraska and Missouri as my top teams, because they all have good traditions. I also know a couple of players on Missouri."
