LB Green talks latest offer and more

North Chicago (Ill.) junior outside linebacker prospect Kevin Green (6-foot-2, 213 pounds) was one of several Chicagoland prospects who attended the University of Iowa one-day camp last Saturday. Green discovered on Monday that his performance at the Iowa one-day was strong enough to earn an offer from the Hawkeyes.
"I called the Iowa coaches on Monday after the camp," Green said. "Iowa has offered me a scholarship. I had a really good talk with all of the Iowa coaches on Monday and they are really excited about having me become part of the Hawkeyes."

Green talked about Iowa camp experience as well as landing an offer from the Hawkeyes.
"It's definitely exciting to get an offer from Iowa. I thought that I did pretty well overall at the one-day camp. The Iowa coaches had me work out at the camp as a linebacker. Some of the other coaches at Iowa wanted to have me work at a few different positions but Coach (Darrell) Wilson said he didn't want to share me with the rest of the coaches."
"I really came away very impressed with Iowa. I liked the coaches quite a bit. They really are down to Earth and friendly, and you just feel very at ease with them. They are also very straight-forward in regards towards recruiting, which I appreciate. The coaches said that I was very coach-able and that I was also a fast learner. They said that the really like my potential."
Green was hoping to attend as many as 8-9 one day camps, but Green will instead focus on just a few more camps this summer.
"I really wanted to get out and camp at several schools this summer, but I'm going to scale that back because I have team responsibilities like 7 on 7 tournaments and my team camp. I'm looking at going to one-day camps this summer at Purdue, Notre Dame and maybe one or two more schools at the most."
Kevin Green currently has scholarship offers from Iowa, Boston College, Indiana, Akron, Western Michigan, Duke, Kansas, Navy, Ball State, Toledo, Purdue, Minnesota and Bowling Green State.
