LB Gets Offers He Wanted

Boca Raton (Fla.) Pope John Paul II linebacker Dwight Stephenson Jr. always knew that patience was a virtue. Now his patience has paid off in some big-time scholarship offers.
"I got one of the offers I really wanted from Florida," said the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder. "I've also received offers from Tennessee, North Carolina, Pitt and Boston College. I'm considering all of them as well as Miami. They should be offering soon as well."

Right now there are two teams to beat.
"Florida and Miami are my two favorites," he said. "I love the way they each play defense, using speed and always attacking."
However, Stephenson is looking for more than just a football team. He's looking for academics and a new home for four to five years.
"North Carolina, BC and Pitt are interesting to me because they have good academics, especially Boston College," he said. "But Florida, Miami and Tennessee are great programs and you can also get a good education there as well. I'm looking for a balance."
Stephenson had 27 sacks as a junior. He plans to take all of his official visits before deciding.
