Reggie Dent wants to get huge. That’s why the 6-foot-2, 228-pound linebacker wants to redshirt wherever he goes. Right now Miami looks like the best bet.
“I really like Miami,” said the Riviera Beach (Fla.) Suncoast star. “They’ve offered and so have about 15 other schools. I’m about 80-percent sure I’ll end up as a Hurricane.”
Dent and teammate Devin Hester recently took an unofficial trip to Tallahassee to see Miami dominate Florida State.
“That impressed us a lot and Florida State looks bad,” he said. “Devin and I will visit Miami on December 7th. I’m also taking official visits to Purdue in December and to Kentucky in November. I’m also thinking about Nebraska, Michigan and Florida.”
Dent would like to play outside linebacker in college at around 245 pounds while maintaining his 4.6-second speed in the 40-yard dash. He also has good bloodlines, as his uncle is former Michigan superstar wide receiver Anthony Carter.
“That’s why Michigan wants me to take a trip,” he said. “They figure I’d want to follow in his footsteps.”
