LB excited for 08 season

Sam Barrington is a three-star linebacker prospect from Jacksonville (Fla.) Terry Parker High School. Barrington, 6-3 and 220 pounds, recorded 104 tackles, two sacks and had three fumble recoveries as a junior. Today, marked his coming out party for his senior season.
"Today was our first two-a-day practice and I could have done four-a-days," Barrington said. "We came out with a lot of energy. I feel if you start good you will end up good so I feel great right now. I am really looking forward to the season. I am looking forward to the playoffs and nothing less."

In addition to his linebacker duties, Barrington will also play running back, slot receiver and return kicks this season.
"I won't come off the field that much this year. That's good. I am a good athlete and I know I can help my team and produce."
So far Barrington has set up one official visit to Purdue (10-31). He has another team in mind as well.
"I will likely set up one with South Carolina. Right now I don't have a top five or top ten. To be honest, I have kind of been slacking in the recruiting department lately. I know Purdue, South Carolina, Central Florida, South Florida, Clemson, Illinois and some others I am pretty serious about.
"I will try and go to the Florida/Hawaii game later this month and I know I will go to the USF/UCF game in Orlando. That will be a big game for me because I know both UCF and USF are two of my contenders. It will be a good experience to see them both at the same time."
Barrington camped this summer at USF and Florida.
