LB DeBerry happy for PSU

Rivals250 linebacker Ricky DeBerry was happy to hear the news regarding Penn State's bowl ban being lifted. DeBerry continues to have the Nittany Lions as one of his finalists as he is ready to start taking official visits this weekend.
"You know, it's a good thing for them (Penn State)," he said. "A lot of recruits still questioned things due to the sanctions, but this is a good thing for them and the football players. It helps them a lot.

"I've always liked the staff and the coaches. It's a big-time football school and a great place to be. But, the sanctions were there, and the players had nothing to do with it, so this is big."
DeBerry noted while it helps, it won't ultimately decide his choice.
"It's big, but I'm going where I feel most comfortable. The sanctions didn't really have an impact on me, but I'm happy for them."
DeBerry went deeper on the Nittany Lions.
"I like everything about Penn State, everyone there is so genuine and it's a good conference with great academics and football. You couldn't ask for anything better."
Still, the Richmond (Va.) Atlee prospect is primarily focused on eight schools along with Penn State including Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
DeBerry will take his first official visit this weekend to Oklahoma and noted he plans to head to officials at Texas A&M, Alabama and Tennessee as well. The final visit has yet to be determined.
"These schools I have the best relationship with those coaches and I could see myself going to those universities. They are somewhere I can be comfortable for the next three to four years."
