Miami (Fla.) Norland inside linebacker Dreshown Dean is reporting a BCS offer from Illinois along with an in-state verbal from Florida Atlantic.
Dean took a trip to Nashville this past weekend to take in the Vanderbilt spring game. Although he left without an offer he enjoyed his trip.
Last fall, Dean led his team to the second round of the Class 6A playoffs while recording 70 tackles, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and two sacks.
The run-stuffing 'backer is very stout at the point of the attack and does a great job shedding blockers. His father Messene Louisdor spent some time in the NFL and overseas in NFL Europe.
Of his early BCS offer, Dean said, "It's big for me. It let's me know that I can play at the highest level and compete in the Big Ten."
He reports interest from BYU and Maryland. The Norland star attended the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour in Miami and had a solid showing.
Now that he picked up his first official offer he hopes to earn more this spring and summer during the off-season events. He says he is "open" to everyone, but feels very good about Illinois.
