LB Close To Commitment

Super outside linebacker Joe Kedra from Cherry Hill (N.J.) Camden Catholic will be heading to Chapel Hill, N.C. for his first official visit this weekend. Is a decision following?
"There is a possibility that I might commit while I'm down there. I know that UNC is my leader along with Penn State. I went to Penn State unofficially for the Nebraska game and was impressed, but UNC has always been on the top of my list."

So far this season Joe has played extremely well in leading Camden Catholic to a 2-0 record and a top 20 ranking in the Garden State. Teammate and friend Nick Cangelosi has already given the Tar Heels an early commitment. Will this influence Joe's decision?
"Not really. It would be nice to continue my career along with Nick, but I will make my decision based on what is right for me. It's still up in the air between UNC and Penn State, but I would like to make my decision soon."
Although Joe has the frame to be a 240-pound inside linebacker at the next level, both North Carolina and Penn State are recruiting him as an outside 'backer.
"I would rather play outside linebacker in college, but I realize that I could be moved inside. It doesn't matter, I just want to play."
If Kedra doesn't commit this weekend, an official visit to Penn State is likely and he'll also consider trips to Virginia, Nebraska and Notre Dame.
