LB Cantey takes unofficial to Syracuse

Brooklyn (N.Y.) South Shore linebacker Parker Cantey took an unofficial visit to the West Virginia-Syracuse game last weekend. What did the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder with 4.56-second speed think of the 'Cuse?
"I just went to see the game and it was good to get the college experience on the sideline and see Syracuse," he said. "I really noticed how hard they worked and how excited they were to play the game. I took notice of what the coaches are doing during the game and how well the team played."

Cantey has no other unofficial visits scheduled, but he mentioned taking ones to Penn State in October and Rutgers in December.
As for official visits, the three-star prospect plans to go to Penn State, Syracuse and Virginia and is considering Wisconsin, Iowa and newcomer Minnesota.
"Wisconsin has offered and that's good to get an offer from another school, but they run the ball a lot so we'll see," he said. "Minnesota has been showing a lot of interest. I don't know much about them and it's going to be tough since I don't. I still do plan to take all five visits."
The No. 8 player in New York kicks off the season this weekend.
"I'm looking forward to continuing to do what I do on defense to get better. I'd like to get an interception because in four years of playing high school football I've never got one," he said. "I also want to get more catches, more receiving yards and touchdowns."
Cantey and his South Shore teammates have played in two scrimmages already.
"I didn't play much in the first, but I played a lot in the second one to get my body in shape for the season," he said. "I did pretty well and hopefully it got me ready for Saturday."
