LB Brown names leader

Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. linebacker Mike Brown took his first official visit last weekend and a leader has suddenly emerged.
"I went to Virginia Tech and I really liked it a lot," said the 6-foot-3, 210-pounder. "It reminded me of where I grew up in Florida. I moved to Palm Beach which is a city atmosphere but I was born and raised in a place just like Blacksburg. Lots of open space.

"I also liked the coaches and players and it's a total college town. Everyone knows everyone else there. It's a football-crazy area."
Brown thought about committing, but wants to see a few other places first.
"I was supposed to go to either Boston College or Rutgers this weekend, but I don't think either is happening," he said. "I have Michigan set for Dec. 13 and I also want to visit NC State and maybe Florida if they offer me. Right now the Hokies have the lead."
Brown made 112 tackles this season with seven forced fumbles and one interception. He led his team to a 6-3 record. His host at Tech was cornerback Eric Green.
