Ahmad Brooks has been thinking pretty hard lately.
“I’ve thought about committing to Virginia, sure,” said the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder from Woodbridge (Va.) C.D. Hylton. “I still want to take my official visits and I don’t think I’ll make a decision until January, but it’s tempting.”
Brooks is thinking harder than ever about Virginia because of a conversation he had with defensive tackle Kwakou Robinson at the Virginia-Virginia Tech game last weekend.
“I heard that he might have committed,” said Brooks. “Playing behind a big man like that, that would be tight. We hit it off real well.”
And did Brooks make a pact with Robinson that if Kwakou committed, then he would too?
“I don’t remember the words that came out of my mouth,” he said with a laugh. “We talked about a few things and playing together was one of them. We’ll see what happens.”
Brooks said he still plans on taking his official visit to Virginia Tech on Dec. 14 and his trip to Virginia on Jan. 18. So does Virginia Tech have a chance?
“Sure they do,” he said. “I’m still interested in taking my visit and seeing how I’d fit in there as well.”
Brooks is also considering Florida State and Tennessee.
