Ben Wilson had an excellent in-home visit this week with TCU and he’s taking his official trip to Fort Worth this weekend.

The Horned Frogs’ coaching staff did a fine job of wrapping the three-star linebacker from Sumner, Wash., up early and things continue to look good.

Even in the face of a recent offer from Washington.

“In-home visit with (coach Chad) Glasgow went great,” Wilson said.

“Spent time talking about the season and also about what TCU has to offer. Heading to Fort Worth this weekend for official visit. No other visits scheduled.”

Wilson, who has been committed to TCU since late June, landed a surprise offer from Washington in late November as it's looking for another linebacker in this class and it could play a role leading up to signing day.

The three-star linebacker who finished with 141 tackles and 1,259 rushing yards with 20 touchdowns in his senior season has visited Washington multiple times since he lives less than an hour from campus.

He’s also developed a good relationship with the Huskies’ coaching staff but Wilson isn’t saying much about what he thinks when it comes to Washington.

At this point, he’s focused on having a good trip to TCU this weekend and going from there.

“Being from here, have been up to UW,” Wilson said. “Coach (Bob) Gregory has been great to talk with during the process.”
