Lazears future starting to clear up

With Signing Day less than a month away, things are beginning to shape up for linebacker Pat Lazear out of Wheaton, Md. The 6-foot-0, 229-pounder isn't planning to take any official visits, but knows which schools he's eyeing.
"Not too much has changed for me," he said. "My court case is all done and I seriously doubt it'll impact my college career. It's just up to me to see how everything goes in the future.

"As far as how that affects recruiting, Ohio State hasn't said they've completely dropped off yet. They want to see how the case went and talk to higher ups about it and then they'll get back to me. With the coaching change at Alabama, I haven't heard from the new staff. I am however trying to get in touch. Finally, West Virginia has said they'll be there no matter what and continue to show me regular recruiting interest."
Previously the three-star prospect was favoring Ohio State. Is that still the case?
"Ohio State was the leader at one time," he said. "Right now there really is no true leader though. It's probably going to come down to whoever is willing to give me a shot and wants me most."
Obviously right now that would help West Virginia who is there no matter what. What is Lazear's take on the Mountaineers?
"I've got a great feeling there, it's almost like home," he said. "All my family is from around there and it would be a good fit I think."
Lazear graduates from Wheaton next week. He went on to discuss his plans after he graduates high school.
"I'm probably going to get a job for the next few months and then I'm hoping to enroll in June at school."
