Layne sees his first MSU game

Michigan State was the first school to offer Rivals250 class of 2016 wide receiver Justin Layne last winter, and he attended his first game in East Lansing this past weekend.
"Saturday I was at the Michigan State game versus Nebraska," Layne said. "It was a good game. Nebraska actually caught back up at the end so we were kind of worried for a second, but Michigan State got the W, so that's all that matters."

The last time Layne visited Michigan State was for their spring game in April. He made sure he got there early enough on Saturday to soak in the regular season game atmosphere around East Lansing.
"I got there around 3 o'clock, so I got to see what it was like on game day," Layne said. "I just loved it. They are definitely in my top (group) on my list. I think all my questions are pretty much answered."
Additional game visits are being planned by Layne, and his next stop will be to see another Big Ten program later this month.
"On the 25th I will be going to Penn State. It is Penn State versus Ohio State, so that should be good," Layne said. "I have been down there for a camp this summer when I picked up my offer. I just want to see how they are on their game day and how their coaches are. I just want to get a little bit better feel for Penn State."
The 6-foot-2, 181-pound Layne is now up to eight scholarship offers, with his most recent coming from Notre Dame.
"I just picked up Notre Dame," Layne said. "I like the school and like what they have to offer, but I don't know too much about Notre Dame so I have to take my time and learn a little more about them."
Layne's Cleveland (Ohio) Benedictine team is off to a 5-1 start to the 2014 season and the four-star receiver has accumulated 14 receptions for 348 yards and five touchdowns so far.
