Lawson sticking with State

North Carolina State offensive guard commitment Henry Lawson recently heard about head coach Chuck Amato's firing. Does the news worry the Charlotte (N.C.) Charlotte Catholic prospect?
"I found out about the news on Sunday and it was sad to see a great coach like him go," he said. "I am still looking forward to playing for North Carolina State. I really fell in love with the entire program."

The coaches have been in touch with the 6-foot-3, 289-pounder since the news came out.
"I talked to coach Portee on Monday and he told me not to worry," he said. "He just said stick with the Pack and they'll have a new coach soon. I do really like coach Portee a lot and even if he left, that would not affect my decision on going there."
Obviously, Lawson is firmly sticking to his commitment to North Carolina State. What does he like about the school?
"From the first time I went there, it's an awesome place to be," he said. "They are a great program with tremendous facilities and I like the atmosphere a lot too."
Meanwhile, the two-star prospect is playing in the Western finals this week.
"We're still playing and if we win this week we'll be playing for state," he said. "Our team started out slow this year coming in with a 34-game win streak that ended, but we fought back and are rolling to our third straight state championship. I think I've done pretty well. I feel like I'm faster and much more consistent now."
