Overland Park (Kan.) Shawnee Mission West linebacker Blake Lawrence has had his list reduced to two teams – Kansas and Nebraska – for quite some time.
But now the 6-foot-2, 199-pounder says he's ready to take the next step in the recruiting process.
"It's about time to make a decision," Lawrence, the No. 2 player in Kansas and No. 16 outside linebacker in the country, said.
"I've set up my two official visits. After the visits, I'll probably have a decision shortly after that."
Lawrence will first visit Nebraska next weekend on Sept. 29. The Huskers ironically play host to Kansas that weekend. Then the following weekend, Oct. 6, Lawrence will be in Lawrence for the Jayhawks' game against Texas A&M.
But up first for Lawrence is his game tonight against Sunflower League foe Shawnee Mission North.
"We hear they have a good group of young guys," Lawrence said.
"We have to be ready for them."
