LaVert Hill visits Michigan

Detroit (Mich.) King cornerback LaVert Hill has been committed to Penn State since January, but has made visits to other schools since. This past weekend he was in Ann Arbor for Michigan's BBQ at the Big House event.
"It was pretty good. The coaches showed me a lot of love," Hill said. 'Jim Harbaugh, I got to talk to him. He just told me he really wants me there and be on this Michigan team. The corners coaches, Coach Z (Michael Zordich) and Coach (D.J.) Durkin, they are pretty good coaches."

After previous visits to other schools Hill has stated that he remains 100 percent committed to Penn State. With his senior season about to kick off, Hill wants to put the recruiting process on the backburner.
"My mindset right now is just to not worry about the recruiting process, just focus on my team and focus on the season," Hill said. "I will worry about (recruiting) later. I'm just going to Penn State for right now."
Hill visited Penn State July 18-20 for the Nittany Lion's own BBQ event. He will be back out for a game in State College this fall and keeps in close contact with the coaching staff.
"I talk to them every day," Hill said. "I will be attending the Michigan-Penn State game Nov. 21. That will be my official visit too."
Whether Hill will take additional official visits is a topic he plans to discuss with his mother in the near future. Besides Penn State and Michigan, Tennessee and UCLA are looking to get him out for a visit this fall, and Michigan State is a school he visited several times in the spring and early summer.
"(Michigan State) is recruiting me pretty strong, especially Coach (Harlon) Barnett," Hill said. "He's talked to me a lot and told me they want me, that I would be a great fit."
The 5-foot-11, 173-pound Hill will play his first season with Detroit King this fall, after transferring from Detroit Cass Tech last winter.
"We have a good team this year," Hill said. "We just need to come together as one and know that the goal is to win the state championship."
A four-star prospect, Hill is ranked as the No. 167 overall player and No. 12 cornerback in the 2016 class. Penn State has talked with him about possibly playing both sides of the football in college, and he will see time at wide receiver as well during his senior season.
