Lavelle Hawkins Likes Five

Stockton (Calif.) Edison wide out Lavelle Hawkins came up just short in last weekend’s CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Div. I championship game falling to Sacramento (Calif.) Grant 14-6.
“I thought we would put more points on the board,” Hawkins said. “I’m real disappointed but I’m just trying to move past it. We had a good season but it sure would have been good to go out with a ring.”

Hawkins, 5-11, 170 pounds is one of the nation’s top prospects and a Rivals 100 selection. He has great hands and body control and runs in the mid 4.4 range in the 40. On the recruiting front, Hawkins said there’s five schools he’s looking at right now and will begin to get serious about his recruitment.
“I like Miami, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon State and Washington,” Hawkins said. “All but Miami have offered but they said they would on my trip. I’m taking this weekend off so I’ll have to try and squeeze all my visits in January. I have a few dates set but I’m still tinkering with them a little. I should have everything finalized in the next week or so.”
