Lattier pulls the trigger for Cougars

Houston got big news on Thursday evening when three-star defensive tackle Demarcus Lattier called up the coaches with a decision.
The 6-foot-2, 285-pounder had been contemplating a commitment to the Cougars since earlier in the week. Thursday evening, Lattier made it official.

"I sure did, I'm headed to Houston," Lattier said about this commitment. "I did that on Thursday night after I thought about everything."
One of the main reasons for Lattier's commitment was the distance from home. He took a trip to Indiana, but realized he wanted to be close to his family.
"My mother felt real comfortable with everything there," Lattier said about Houston. "We really liked the defensive line coach too. He seemed real cool."
Though there were several scholarship offers on the table at one time, Lattier says that his decision for the Cougars is final.
"This is it for me," Lattier said. "They're right for me and I'm through."
Lattier was being recruited by Houston coach Tony Fitzpatrick.
