In late February, Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair offensive guard Chris Lathrop says he was receiving big interest from several schools.

Now that coaches have begun visiting the school, the first offer has come and several more could be on the way. Army made the first offer for the 6-foot-5, 270-pounder, but coaches from Navy, Nebraska, Arizona State, Arizona, and Texas Tech have either stopped by campus already or are about to in order to check out the talented prospect.
"I'm extremely excited about my first offer from Army because my brother is up at West Point right now," Lathrop said. "Right now, I'm also hoping for an offer from Texas Tech. That's the one I want to wait for.
"I just loved the atmosphere up there and the coaching staff."
Aside from Texas Tech, Lathrop has also visited Northwestern and Texas A&M over the last few months. His next order of business is to head to the NIKE Training Camp at TCU this weekend.
As for which offer may come next, Navy and Duke are two schools that Lathrop says have talked about offering in the very near future.
"Navy told me that they were very interested and they're going to talk to me at the end of spring training," he said. "The Duke coach told me to not be surprised if I get an offer before May."
