THE LATEST: Wisconsin native JC Latham plays his college football more than a thousand miles away from his family home at Florida’s IMG Academy, but the massive class-of-2021 defensive end hasn’t forgotten his roots. Following IMG’s spring game, Latham named a few favorites in the process and while some Southern programs are on the list, the hometown Badgers are also very much in play. Below, Latham talks favorites, visits plans and the allure of home.
IN HIS WORDS
ON POSSIBLE UPCOMING VISITS:
“I’m going to go to Wisconsin when I get back home [for summer break]. I’ll see where things go from there. I want to visit Clemson again, too. Aside from that, I really don’t know.”
ON IF HE PREFERS SCHOOLS CLOSER TO HIS WISCONSIN HOME:
“I mean, that’s in play. I never wanted to just get down here to the South and ignore where I come from.”
ON THE SCHOOLS THAT ARE MOST INVOLVED AT THE MOMENT:
“Clemson is talking to me a lot, but they haven’t offered yet. Aside from that, it’s pretty low key during the spring.”
ON HIS CURRENT LEADERS:
“I would say Alabama, Clemson, Wisconsin.”
ON WISCONSIN:
“I’m from there and I love it. They want me to be a part of the culture because that’s where I’m from. I think playing there would be nice because it’s right in the backyard.”
ON ALABAMA
“They are one of the best schools in the country. If we’re being honest, Clemson and Alabama can go back and forth with it. But, for the most part, it’s those two. That makes them appealing. They produce top players every year. I want to play with the best players in the country and show I can play with the big dogs.”
