Latest on OL Todd Huber

Palos Verdes Estates (Calif.) Peninsula offensive lineman Todd Huber continues to hear from more schools as the summer begins to wind down. The talented athlete will take some time off for a family vacation and then unofficially visit a pair of his favorite schools later in the month.
Huber, 6-3, 275 pounds and the MVP of the NIKE Camp at Stanford is currently sitting on six scholarship offers and could be close on a few others.

"Arizona State was the most recent offer but that was a while ago," Huber said. "I also have Stanford, Oregon, Washington, Washington State and Boise State. Mississippi and Colorado are recruiting me pretty hard right now too and it sounds like they might offer soon.
"Cal has also just started talking to me again after kind of falling off there for awhile. Early on in the process, Cal was probably recruiting me the hardest but when I didn't go to their camp, I think they may have thought I wasn't interested or something.
"They have been texting me a lot lately and I had a two hour conversation last night with Coach Michalczik, the offensive line coach and Coach Gould who is the one recruiting me and it went really well. They really want me to come up for an unofficial visit so they can spend more time with me and it sounds like they just want to get to know better before they offer.
"I have an unofficial visit planned for Stanford August 14 and I might just take a visit to Cal as well while I'm up there. Stanford is still recruiting me the hardest and I just finished the application last night. That's a huge process with all the essays and everything but I wanted to get it done before I left for vacation and now I'm all set and will be mailing it out in the next few days."
Huber said he'll be leaving for Bass Lake later in the week for a well deserved vacation.
"We have double days coming up soon so this is really the only time I had to take a vacation," Huber said. "Right when I get home, I'll take those unofficial visits and then it will be time to get back to work. I'm also going to send my tape out to Notre Dame, they were really the only school I was interested in that didn't come by in the spring so I want to send the tape out there and see what happens.
"As for making a decision, I still have the same thoughts as I've always had. I'm in no hurry right now to get anything done but if I find the right school and the right fit and everything just feels right, I'll go ahead and commit early. I really don't have a preference though between committing early or taking my trips, like I said, just whenever it feels right to me, that's when I'll do it."
