One of the best linebackers in the region has offers coming in from all over the place.
“I have offers from Virginia Tech, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, Tennessee, Penn State, and Pitt. I just got an offer from Clemson,” says 6-foot-1, 238-pound linebacker Vince Hall of Chesapeake (Va.) Western Branch. “The offer from Clemson changes the way I look at things a lot.”
Hall has offers from a lot of schools, but right now he’s not sure which way he’s leaning.
“All of the schools that have offered me are about even right now. I’m really only looking at the schools who have offered.”
He plans on spending a lot of time this summer at colleges, trying to get an idea of which schools stand out to him.
“I went to a camp at Penn State earlier this summer. I may not camp anywhere else, but I’m going to take unofficial visits to Virginia Tech and Maryland. I don’t really know where I’m going to take my official visits. I had a decent idea recently, but Clemson just offered so that changes things. I’m going to have to talk things over with a lot of people.”
Although he does not have a favorite at this point, he did have nice things to say about two of the schools on his list.
“I like Virginia Tech because of the coaching staff. Also, some of the guys on their team played at my high school. I get along with everybody there. I also like Virginia because of their coaching staff. Coach Groh has been in the NFL a lot of years, and so have a lot of people on the coaching staff. I think they know what it takes to get players there.”
With good size and speed, Hall made a lot of tackles last season.
“I consistently run the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.”
With new schools offering at a frequent rate, Hall isn’t quite ready for this process to end.
“I would like to wait until signing day or around then to decide,” Hall says. “But if one school begins to stand out among the rest as my favorite, then I’ll probably decide when that happens.
