Late showing spurs interest for Texas QB

Fredricksburg, Texas quarterback Eric Herbort has begun to receive interest from colleges after coming on the scene last year late.
“Our starting quarterback got injured with five games to play,” the 6-foot, 170-pound Herbort said. “It took me a little bit to get rolling, but I ended up with just over 500 yards passing and five touchdowns. I also ran for about 100 yards and scored three times.”

The late surge by Herbort has a few colleges expressing interest.
“I have talked to a guy from Air Force about their school,” he said. “I have a lot interest in them. I want to fly fighter jets. That would be great.
“I’m also getting stuff from Arkansas and Missouri. I’m also interested in Houston and maybe Rice. I’ll try and get to camps at Air Force and Houston. I might go to one at Rice. I don’t have a favorite school right now. I want to see what comes as we get further in to this.”
