Late addition for UCLA class

UCLA has landed a late 2011 commitment from Anthony Thompson, a 6-foot-2, 200-pound defensive back from Montreal (Quebec) Vanier College who plans to sign with the Bruins soon after the letter-of-intent papers show up in the mail.
Thompson, who had also been recruited by Oregon State, visited UCLA last weekend and decided it was the best place for him.

It was a fast process though, Thompson said, since the Bruins only started getting heavily involved with him a few weeks ago.
"It went well," Thompson said of his visit to Westwood. "It was really nice. It was a big-time campus, everybody is nice out there and it was nice being in L.A. I really enjoyed the visit.
"It wasn't that long of a recruiting process. It happened like two weeks ago. As soon as I cleared I got the phone call."
Secondary coach Tim Hundley helped recruit Thompson from Canada to UCLA and the two apparently hit it off during Thompson's weekend visit.
According to the Vanier College standout, Hundley was a big reason why he ended up picking the Bruins.
"He's a great guy," Thompson said. "He really focuses on details, like footwork, so I can really work with him. You can tell he's a really nice guy. That's mainly what I liked about him."
