Running back Latavius Murray out of Nedrow (N.Y.) Onondaga Central School headed south over the weekend. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder camped at Florida for the Friday Night Lights showcase. What did Murray think of the camp?
"It was cool," he said. "It wasn't really a straight visit instead it was Friday Night in the Swamp. It was just a workout for juniors and seniors. We lifted a little and then did individual drills and one-on-ones.
"I felt like I did well. The coaches weren't really familiar with me since I'm from upstate, but I did talk to my recruiting coach and the running back coach. He said he likes my style and how hard I played. He talked about what I can work on and said he'll stay on top of me this year. I think they want to see my first game film this season and then go from there."
Currently the three-star prospect holds offers from Boston College, Connecticut, Maryland, Syracuse and UCF.
Is Murray heading anywhere else in the near future?
"I'm still in Florida, but when I get back I'm going to try to get to Maryland and Boston College before the season sometime in August," he said. "I want to see the campuses and the cities. I also would like to meet with some of the coaches."
At this time, Murray claims no favorites.
