Last-minute offers pour in for Bamfo

College coaches can be a fickle group. They may love a prospect one week and the next they may be nowhere to be found. Rockwall (Texas) Heath linebacker George Bamfo knows all about their fickle nature. There wasn't a college coach to be found just a short time ago but since Bamfo picked up a qualifying score on his ACT, schools are banging down his door.
"I picked up an offer from Houston, Colorado State and North Texas," Bamfo said on Friday. "I also have one from Portland State and SFA. All of them are pretty new because since the found out I qualified they all just jumped on the scene."

Bamfo had previously received interest from programs like Texas Tech and Kansas but with no firm offer on the table. Now, with less than two weeks until National Signing Day, Bamfo has a lot of new opportunities to consider and not much time to do so.
"I'm on my official visit to North Texas right now," he said. "Next weekend I'm going to Colorado State. I'm going to visit Houston as well but I'm going to do it on a weekday."
Texas Tech, Kansas, San Diego State and others are still trying to get Bamfo on campus, but the lack of weekends left have handcuffed his scheduling.
"It's kind of confusing because I don't know which way to go," he said. "It's exciting though. Now I gotta make a quick decision with all these schools coming at once and I'm running out of weekends.
"Kansas and Texas Tech haven't offered yet and they said they're going to offer so I don't know. San Diego State is wanting me to come on a visit. They'll probably offer if I come on a visit and some other schools have said they want to see me and then they'll offer."
At this point, Bamfo has options and that's all he has asked for. Now, some of the programs that have waited until the last minute for the relentless athlete may soon find out that he is no longer an option for them.
