Las Vegas DB on the radar

There never seems to be a shortage of good players every year in Nevada and one name that impressed at the Los Angeles NIKE Training Camp and is getting good attention is Las Vegas High cornerback Colin Pretlow. The 5-foot-11, 148-pounder didn't test through the roof at the camp, but did well in the drills and one-on-ones.
"I'm a cornerback for my team," Pretlow, who ran a 4.5-second shuttle time and had a 32-inch vertical leap at the NIKE Camp, said. "I'm sure that's the position I'll play in college. I think I have good cover skills. My teammates call me 'Lock Down' because I lock down the other team's best receiver."

Pretlow said he's been getting regular attention from schools out West, but he's not earned his first scholarship offer quite yet.
"I've been hearing from Colorado State, Colorado, Utah, Utah State, UNLV, Arizona State, Arizona and Oregon State – just a lot of teams," he said. "It's just letters right now, but Colorado State seems like they are going to offer really soon. They've been talking like it for a few days now.
"All of the schools talking to me are even right now. I want to see which schools are interested before I start naming a leader or anything like that. I'll wait until I start getting more offers."
Pretlow plans to camp this summer with his high school teammates at UNLV and he's not sure about any other one-day stops at camps. He does have an idea what the perfect school will have, though.
"I want to find a place where I basically just feel comfortable at and a place that has good academics," Pretlow, who does have a 3.3 grade-point average, said. "I want them to be good academically and have a good football team, too.
"I'm going to wait it out and take my visits, because you never know when someone is going to come along. I might make my final decision and then someone comes along with a better offer. I don't want to have to switch so I'll just wait it out."
