Larkins looking for BCS offers

Madison Heights (Mich.) Madison athlete Danny Larkins attended a press conference two weeks ago where three Detroit area players committed to Cincinnati and another committed to Iowa. The 5-11, 185-pound prospect has been hearing from both schools, and is hoping to earn offers from each this fall.
Larkins already holds offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan. Cincinnati is the BCS school he feels is closest to extending an offer.

"They said they really want me, but they haven't thrown me an offer yet," Larkins said of the Bearcats. "Every time I have been giving the coach a call he has not been answering. I know he has been busy, so I am going to give him a call early in the morning when I know he can talk to me."
It has been sometime since Larkins has reached Iowa on the phone as well, but the Hawkeyes are regularly sending mail to the Detroit area prospect.
"I am hearing a lot of things from Iowa," Larkins said. "The coach has told me to keep on calling and they want me to come to all their home games."
Larkins has not scheduled any game day visits thus far for the fall, but is planning to discuss some trips with his mother. He will wait until he can visit more schools, and other programs have a chance to see him this fall, before making his decision.
"It will probably be after the season," Larkins said. "I was thinking about taking some official visits."
Other programs Larkins hopes to catch the attention of this fall include Alabama, Tennessee, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
Both Iowa and Cincinnati are talking to Larkins about the wide receiver position. He has the ability to play receiver or defensive back on the college level, though he does prefer receiver. As a junior he caught 36 passes for 813 yards and six touchdowns from the receiver position.
